Using keyboard shortcuts leads to faster performance of tasks and helps to increase productivity and maintain your focus. The following is a collection of the most widely used keyboard shortcuts, and you should know them.
(Ctrl+C) or (Ctrl+Insert) and (Ctrl+X)
When you want to copy a selected item or highlighted text you can use ctrl+insert or ctrl+c. this action will store the selected item or highlighted text in the clipboard with keeping the original. you can use ctrl+x to cut selected item or highlighted text this action will clear the selected item or highlighted text and store it in the clipboard.
On Apple use cmd+c
(Ctrl+V) or (Shift+Insert)
This action will paste the selected item or highlighted text that’s stored in the clipboard.
On Apple use cmd+v
(Ctrl+Z) and (Ctrl+Y)
When you want to undo any change you can use ctrl+z. for example if you paste text press this key will undo the paste, you can use this action multiple times to undo multiple changes. When you want to redo the undo you can press ctrl+y and you also can use it multiple times.
On Apple use cmd+z and cmd+y
(Ctrl+F)
You can use this action to search any text for example open your Internet browser and press ctrl+f the Find field will be opened which allows you to search now type “shortcut” You’ll see all the shortcuts on the page.
On Apple use cmd+f
(Alt+Tab) or (Ctrl+Tab)
When you want to switch between open programs you can press alt+tab or ctrl+tab. For example if your browser window is open and you have some other programs running in the background you can now press alt and hold and press tab key to cycle through open programs.
On Apple use cmd+tab
(Ctrl+Left) or (Right arrow) and (Ctrl+Backspace)
When you want to delete a full word you can press ctrl and hold then press Backspace to delete a full word. Now when you want to move the cursor one word at a time you can press ctrl key and hold then press the right or left arrow key. When you want to select one word at a time press Ctrl+Shift and hold then press the right or left arrow key.
These shortcuts do not work on Apple.
(Ctrl+S)
You can use this action to save any file or a document For example, if you are working on a Word program, document or other file, you can do this to save what you have done.
On Apple use cmd+s
(Ctrl+End) or (Ctrl+Home)
Ctrl+Home This action will move to the beginning of the document. Ctrl+End This action will lead to a move to the end of the document.
On Apple use Cmd and the up arrow instead of Ctrl+Home. and use Cmd and the down arrow instead of Ctrl+End.
(Ctrl+P)
You can use this action to view a print preview of the page currently being viewed.
On Apple use cmd+p
(Page Up) or (Page Down) and (Spacebar)
If you want to move to the previous page or the next page you can take this action the (Page Up) or the (Page Down). When you press the spacebar can move the scrollbar down the page. and when you want to move the scrollbar up the page just press Shift+spacebar.
